This website has been created to help you manage your time effectively while you are in my classes.

Page Orientation:

On the far left hand side of the page you will find links to all of my classes. You should be sure you are continuously checking the page for your class. Though you are welcome to monitor and participate in the threads for my other classes, you should focus on the information on the page for your class. Along the top of the page you will find 2 tabs that you will use for class. The "Discussions" tab will be a quick link to the daily questions/threads you might be assigned to participate in. Keep in mind that you should pay close attention to the thread description as threads for ALL of my classes will appear in the discussions thread. These discussions will also appear in the thread section at the bottom of each of my class pages. I will also post photos, videos, and updates (news) to the sections listed along the top. Again, remember that these will contain information for all of my classes.

Website Rules/Requirements:

1. This is an ACADEMIC site. As such, the level of conversation and appropriateness expected in the classroom is also expected on this site. All inappropriate language and content posted to the site will be treated the same as if we were in class and the appropriate punishments will apply.

2. BE RESPECTFUL OF OTHER USERS. This is my biggest pet-peeve. The fact that another user may not be physically near you is not a reason to respond to their comments in a way that would hurt or offend someone.

3. You must use your name in each of your posts. I can track the source of a thread or post, so there is no reason to be anonymous. Be sure you identify yourself so other class members can see your thoughts and engage with you in conversations about your comments.

4. Your user name should be your name. No exceptions. I will ask you to change it.

5. Be sure you are constantly checking the website for updates. You will have homework assignment to complete on the page and you will also be referred to the page for certain documents. It is yourresponsibility to be on top of these assignments and to complete them on time. Be sure you are checking the site for updates.

This site is for you.

I have created it so that you have access to everything that you need to be successful in my class. All of the files (homework assignments, unit calendars, outside readings, powerpoints, course policies, etc.) will be posted on this site. This should eliminate any problems of accomplishing work while you are out or away from school. If you are sick you can go to the website and you will find what you need.

In addition to having access to these files, I will also from time to time have you posting comments on a discussion thread about an assignment from class or a homework assignment. These threads can be found at the bottom of each class page. My hope is that these threads will allow you to participate in a discussion on what we are doing. These online discussions will count as homework assignments or go towards your participation grade.

Enjoy it and have fun! If you are unsure of yourself in classroom conversations, make up for it in these online discussions.
